I started my Spring shopping yesterday. I know we'll probably have at least another month of snow but I figure that if I shop for Spring, it'll come faster, right? I had a great time looking through the new arrivals at my local M for Mendocino and picked up a few key items including a mock-neck nautical dress and a great Vera Moda jacket. But what I really need to add to my wardrobe is periwinkle. My color for Spring/Summer '15 will be periwinkle. It's light, refreshing and flirty. And unfortunately I don't have anything of that colour in my wardrobe.

Retiring a Cooler Closet

Canadian winter is really the bane of fashion, isn't it? I feel for our neighbors in the south who are getting a taste of the Great White North. When the snow begins to pile up I sadly have to pack up my cute and trendy boots and opt for my very chic Sorels. But I don't really mind these big monsters - even when I had to show up to an interview in them! If you can sit back and really take it in a Canadian winter is a beautiful thing and I'm not going to pretend it isn't here by wearing my skyhigh stilettos.

Collaboration with The Noteworthys Part I

I've said it once and I'll say it before: NOW is the time to live in Toronto. Just this past year I have met so many interesting people, and made life-altering connections. Some weeks ago I had the opportunity to work with the up-and-coming "The Noteworthys", a Toronto-based network which connects clientele to designers.



I'm particularly excited about their project and you can stay in the loop by signing up early here.

I was asked to take part in their very first photoshoot where I got to bring a little of my own personal brand to the scene.



I like to have fun with my fashion and this 90s throwback croptop and overalls combination is just that. The sneakers make it a little more current as the white lowtops which were all the rage this Summer have carried into Fall nicely. The oversized nature of the overalls make a big (ha) statement about shape and silhouette: the loose fit creates an androgynous look, but the form-fitting crop top brings in an element of girliness.





My friend Krys, pictured above with me, introduced me to founder Nundini of The Noteworthys. This collection of photos is just the first in a series of three. Collaborating with her and her team was such a wonderful experience. It's great to be a part of a Torontonian movement to make fashion more accessible. This city really is in the midst of a creative surge and I couldn't be more excited to live it first hand.

Oversized Overalls and Hashtags

Okay, it's nearing the end of September and I'm still drinking iced lattes. Where is the fall weather I'm longing for? It looks like my Summer wardrobe is getting an extended season, #FML.


I'm a big believer in the theory that good fashion doesn't need to come at a premium. Sure, shopping vintage or scouring Chinatown is exhausting, but it can be so worth it. That being said I had been desperate for overalls for sometime and had little to no luck in my usual consignment stores. I found these at Urban Outfitters of all places, and heavily reduced at that. Sure they are gigantic on me, but I kind of love that. I'm kind of a goof, and this (endearing?) quality it sometimes reflected in my outfit choices.

These overalls work great as a transition piece. Once the colder weather finally sweeps over Toronto I can break out the flannel and go for a truly 90's revival look.
