Mortician Lace - Fall Lookbook

Let's talk about two of my favourite trends for the new season: all over lace tops get an overhaul in delicate detailed beauties and metallics continue to be the new neutral.

I have for far too long kept my blacks at the back of my closet. With skin as fair as mine it's pretty easy to get washed out, but this lace turtleneck find in black has me digging through my wardrobe. I love this night-on-the-town look because it's edgy, but still fairly casual. The distressed denim makes the otherwise avant-guarde outfit more approachable, and the glimpses of metallic compliment the black without drawing too much attention.

Oversized Overalls and Hashtags

Okay, it's nearing the end of September and I'm still drinking iced lattes. Where is the fall weather I'm longing for? It looks like my Summer wardrobe is getting an extended season, #FML.


I'm a big believer in the theory that good fashion doesn't need to come at a premium. Sure, shopping vintage or scouring Chinatown is exhausting, but it can be so worth it. That being said I had been desperate for overalls for sometime and had little to no luck in my usual consignment stores. I found these at Urban Outfitters of all places, and heavily reduced at that. Sure they are gigantic on me, but I kind of love that. I'm kind of a goof, and this (endearing?) quality it sometimes reflected in my outfit choices.

These overalls work great as a transition piece. Once the colder weather finally sweeps over Toronto I can break out the flannel and go for a truly 90's revival look.

Bedazzling Denim - Pre-Fall Lookbook

Fall officially begins tomorrow, but Toronto is still getting 20+ weather. As much as it pains me to put away my Summer wardrobe I'm looking forward to turning over a new leaf in my personal fashion brand. I want to still be able to capture the feeling of Autumn but chunky knits and layers might not yet be an option. Instead, I'm opting for colours and fabrics that resonate a little better with the changing season, and having a little fun with it too. Using one dramatic accessory can really tie together a look without getting too busy, and it's a great way to put your personal spin on a transitioning outfit.
